Qatar Reports 300,000 Displaced Citizens Return to Northern Gaza

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majed Al Ansari, shared on Tuesday that around 300,000 people have made their way back to their homes in northern Gaza after being displaced in the south.

During a weekly press briefing, Al Ansari mentioned that Hamas has shared important information about hostages with mediators, which has helped clear up some of the obstacles that were preventing Israeli authorities from allowing the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza.

He emphasized the collaborative efforts with Egyptian partners through the Qatari-Egyptian committee to facilitate a safe return for citizens to the north. Furthermore, he announced that there has been progress in the negotiations concerning hostages, confirming that Israeli hostage Arbel Yehud and two others are expected to be released by Friday.
