This gathering brought together leaders and delegates from 21 Arab countries, creating a space for discussion and collaboration on important labor matters. The event also welcomed representatives from various Arab and international organizations, a united front in addressing labor issues.

During the opening ceremony, 25 individuals who have made major contributions to the field of labor were honored for their hard work and dedication. One of the notable honorees was HE Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Dhabit Al Dosari, who was nominated by the Ministry of Labour. Dr. Al Dosari, a current member of the Shura Council, has an amazing background with previous roles as Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Minister of Civil Service and Housing Affairs, and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. His recognition points out his influential work in the labor sector both in Qatar and throughout the region.

The conference is set to shed light on the key challenges and opportunities labor markets face in the Arab world. One of the central topics includes the Director-General’s report, which focuses on promising economic pathways for Arab nations and the importance of diversifying economies for sustainable growth.

This report will discuss how economic complexity relates to human development and innovation, pinpointing the importance of improving partnerships between public and private sectors, as well as the value of social dialogue in implementing effective diversification strategies. There will also be discussions about growth opportunities in emerging areas such as the digital and green economies, along with a proposed declaration aimed at enhancing economic diversification across the region.

Moreover, the conference will review the initiatives and programs carried out by the Arab Labour Organization over the past year, all designed to meet the needs of its members. This includes a range of training courses, seminars, and forums.
