Qatar Condemns Netanyahu’s Reckless Rhetoric

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the inflammatory and baseless remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who absurdly claimed that Israel is fighting for “civilization” while accusing Qatar of defending Hamas’ “barbarism.”

In an official statement, the Ministry denounced Netanyahu’s provocative comments as “unacceptable and devoid of even the most basic levels of political and ethical responsibility.” The Israeli leader had brazenly declared that “Qatar must end its double discourse and decide whether it stands with Israel’s ‘civilization’ or Hamas’ ‘barbarism.'”

The Ministry responded by questioning: “Does the relentless killing of innocent civilians, the starvation blockade, and the weaponization of humanitarian aid constitute the so-called ‘civilization’ that Israel claims to uphold?”

Qatar’s Foreign Affairs emphasized that framing Israel’s ongoing aggression against Gaza as a “defense of civilization” echoes the rhetoric of regimes that have historically used false pretexts to justify atrocities against defenseless civilians.

The statement further highlighted Qatar’s unwavering mediation efforts, carried out in coordination with international partners, to end the war, protect civilians, and secure the release of detainees. “We ask: Have at least 138 Israeli captives been freed through military operations—which Israel labels as ‘justice’—or through the very mediation efforts now being unfairly attacked?”

The Ministry underscored that the people of Gaza continue to endure one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes, including siege-induced starvation, deprivation, and the deliberate obstruction of aid. “Is this the ‘civilization’ Israel boasts of?”

Despite mounting pressure and smear campaigns, Qatar reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to supporting oppressed nations and maintaining its role as a trusted, impartial mediator.

The statement concluded by reiterating Qatar’s close coordination with Egypt and the U.S. to achieve an immediate ceasefire, ensure unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza, and advance a just and lasting peace.
