Recent reports indicate that the US missile defense system deployed in the occupied territories successfully intercepted a ballistic missile launched by the Yemeni Ansarullah group last night.
Images shared on social media show the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) missile system firing an interceptor missile in response to the Yemeni missile attack. In one clip, an American soldier is heard saying, “I have been waiting for this moment for 18 years.”
The Israeli army confirmed that the Ansarullah missile was intercepted by air defense systems but did not clarify whether the interception was executed by Israeli systems or the American THAAD system.
The THAAD missile system was deployed in the occupied territories following Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Tel Aviv on October 1.
