The death toll from the recent terrorist attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, has risen to six, with an additional person injured, as reported by the Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger.
About two and a half weeks after the attack, the number of victims has tragically increased. On the eve of Christmas, a 50-year-old man drove a vehicle through the crowded market, mowing down pedestrians. Among the deceased are a 9-year-old boy and five women aged between 45 and 75. Nearly 300 individuals sustained injuries during the horrific incident.
In the wake of the attack, there has been a reported surge in racist incidents targeting immigrants in Magdeburg. Staff at local counseling centers have received an increasing number of reports from refugees describing physical assaults, beatings, and verbal abuse they have endured since the attack.
