A US media outlet has revealed that Trump is fed up with Russia-Ukraine talks regarding the country’s crisis.
Citing Al Jazeera Qatar, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed sources, that US President Donald Trump is dissatisfied with the peace talks on Ukraine and may withdraw from them altogether.
According to these sources, Trump is also considering options for imposing new sanctions on Russia, especially in light of the country’s intensified military offensives, which have increased frustration in the White House.
The report also adds that the possible US sanctions will not include banking restrictions, but Washington is exploring other options to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the report, the aim of these sanctions is to pressure Moscow to accept a 30-day ceasefire on the conflict fronts.
The Wall Street Journal also quoted a White House spokesman as saying that Trump had made it clear he wanted to reach a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
The White House spokesman also said that the president was “smartly keeping all options open.”
The comments come after sources familiar with the matter previously told the newspaper that Trump was fed up with the Ukraine peace talks and was considering new sanctions against Russia.
