Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, called on the Islamic Ummah to take a united stand against Israeli aggression during his Eid al-Adha sermon in Baghdad.
In his sermon, al-Hakim called for an end to Israel’s unilateral policies in the region, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon, and stressed the importance of supporting any peaceful initiative that preserves the dignity and rights of nations. He also strongly condemned the brutal crimes committed by the Israeli regime against the people of Gaza and Lebanon.
Al-Hakim once again urged Arab countries to adopt a unified Arab and Islamic stance in the face of this ruthless occupation, saying: “It is time for our governments and nations to establish a long-term strategic partnership to continue fostering and solidifying peace, neutralize all attempts at sowing division and discord, and keep the specter of war away from the region.”
In another part of his remarks, al-Hakim described the upcoming elections in Iraq as decisive and emphasized the need to keep state institutions from interfering in electoral affairs.
He stated: “We need a national pact in which all political groups commit not to use wealth as an electoral weapon and to prioritize national interests above all else. We must first agree on clear priorities to which each government is committed, ensuring the next administration continues along the same path.”
