Hebrew-language media has revealed that Syrian Interim Government forces led by Abu Muhammad al-Julani will soon be stationed near the Syrian border with occupied Palestine following several rocket attacks launched from Syrian territory.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israel and the so-called Syrian Interim Government, headed by Julani, have reached an agreement to deploy security forces along the border area after multiple rockets were fired from Syria.
According to the Hebrew-language outlet, security forces affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government will be stationed in areas adjacent to the occupied Palestinian border.
Under the bilateral agreement, Israel has authorized Julani’s forces to carry light weapons in these areas. This tactical permission will not affect the continued presence of Israeli military forces deeper inside Syrian territory.
The move aims specifically to counter recent anti-Israeli operations in the region, with the interim government forces tasked with preventing additional threats against Israel in areas where the occupation army cannot maintain direct control.
