Gaza’s civil defence agency reported that Israeli attacks on Saturday left at least 23 dead, among them three children killed in a strike on their home in the northern town of Jabalia.
Mahmud Bassal, a civil defence spokesman, told AFP that Israeli bombardment across Gaza resulted in “at least 23 dead and dozens wounded,” with victims transported to overwhelmed hospitals.
The children died when an airstrike hit their residence in Jabalia, while footage from Gaza City showed grieving relatives mourning young victims. According to Bassal, six separate drone and aircraft strikes killed 21 people, while two others were shot dead while waiting for food aid in central Gaza’s Netzarim area.
Due to Israeli media restrictions and limited access in Gaza, AFP could not independently verify the casualty figures provided by local sources. The conflict continues to escalate, with civilian casualties mounting in the besieged enclave.
