MoECC Concludes Field Training Programme for UDST Students

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has completed a practical training initiative for students from the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST). The Environmental Assessment and Permits Department oversaw the nine-week program that took place between April 27 and June 26.

To mark the conclusion of the training, the ministry held a final workshop to assess the program’s results and gather feedback from participants. This initiative forms part of MoECC’s yearly strategy to strengthen students’ educational skills by connecting classroom learning with hands-on practice, helping to develop competent Qatari professionals in environmental and technical disciplines.

Throughout the nine weeks, participants attended orientation sessions covering the ministry’s organizational framework and the responsibilities of different environmental departments. The program also arranged tours of MoECC’s research facilities and several prominent environmental and waste management companies, giving students exposure to real-world environmental operations.

Additional components included discussion forums with ministry leaders and environmental specialists, where they examined current environmental issues and the difficulties involved in safeguarding Qatar’s natural surroundings. The curriculum also incorporated skill-building workshops aimed at improving students’ job readiness for careers in the environmental sector.

MoECC highlighted that this training reflects its commitment to equipping students with both knowledge and practical abilities. The ministry aims to cultivate a skilled workforce of environmental specialists who can contribute to Qatar’s long-term sustainable development goals.
