Oklahoma City Thunder Claim NBA Championship With Game 7 Victory Over Pacers

The Oklahoma City Thunder secured their second NBA title in franchise history with a 103-91 win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of the 2024-25 NBA Finals at Paycom Center.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 29 points and 12 assists, earning Finals MVP honors. The star guard also became the first player in 12 years to win both regular season MVP and Finals MVP in the same year. Key contributions came from Jalen Williams (20 points), Chet Holmgren (18 points), and role players Alex Caruso and Cason Wallace (10 points each).

The Pacers suffered an early blow when All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton exited in the first quarter with a right leg injury. Bennedict Mathurin paced Indiana with 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Pascal Siakam and T.J. McConnell added 16 points apiece in the losing effort.

This championship marks the franchise’s first since relocating from Seattle in 2008. Their previous title came in 1979 as the SuperSonics. The victory completes a remarkable turnaround for the Thunder, who rebuilt through the draft after trading their previous superstar core.
