Qatar and Indonesia Explore Labour Cooperation and Workforce Development

Senior officials from Qatar and Indonesia held high-level discussions to enhance bilateral cooperation in labour and workforce development.

Her Excellency Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, met with His Excellency Abdul Kadir Karding, Minister of Migrant Workers Protection and Head of Indonesia’s Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI).

Sheikha Najwa also held talks with Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla, Deputy Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers and Deputy Head of BP2MI, along with Dwi Setiawan Susanto, Director General of Promotion and Overseas Employment Opportunity Utilisation at the Indonesian Ministry of Migrant Workers Protection.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties in the labour sector and exploring new avenues for cooperation. Both sides addressed the recruitment of skilled and qualified Indonesian workers to meet Qatar’s labour market demands, aiming to align efforts with the country’s ongoing development and economic diversification goals.
